Mobile code editor: select, copy and paste don’t work

I was glad to hear that Codeacademy lessons are now supported on mobile phones. When I tried the mobile code editor, I saw that it does work generally, but some basic functionality doesn’t work. I could not select text and copy. I could not select and paste.

I have been using Android, on Chrome and Samsung browsers. I have been using the mobile code editor for Python.

What’s the link to the lesson?

Doesn’t work for me either on iOS. I don’t think it’s supposed to; they want you to type in the names.

It doesn’t seems to me practical to type everything. Copy and paste are crucial for coding.

Especially since we don’t have automatic code completion in the editor, at least for Python.

But sometimes that’s how bugs arise–b/c with quotes for strings, they could be the wrong type of quotes.

More chances for bugs from typing errors.

which is an opportunity to learn the skill of debugging. :upside_down_face:

Sure  Anyway, will the developers of the mobile code editor receive this feedbsck?

No, probably not.

Did you try using this form?

No, thanks for the link.

This post is under the category of Feedback and Requests. Surely Codecademy staff people are supposed to monitor these posts?

I doubt it. But I guess we shall see.
