Maybe I'm not understanding how these change

#1

I have already completed this lesson, but can someone explain to me how m and n become x and y? Did I miss something?

The code, for reference:

`m = [1, 2, 3]
n = [4, 5, 6]

def join_lists(x,y):
return x + y

print join_lists(m, n)

You want this to print [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]`

#2

x and y are just names you create to use in the function, so that you can enter any input and the function will work correctly.
