Math help decimal exponents

I’m having trouble understanding why 100^.5 = 10 please someone explain step by step if possible I’m a bit rusty on some math.

This really isn’t my strong suit, so I won’t be giving you a theoretical answer, but…

If   100 ^ 2   = 10000
And  100 ^ 1   = 100
Then 100 ^ 0.5 = 10

This just makes sense to me. Hope it will to you too.

Just remember that 0.5 == 1/2
So 100 ** 0.5 == 100 ** 1/2
This equals to squared(because of denominator) root of 100 ** 1(because of numerator)
