Many selectors many properties

#1
  1. The second paragraph contains text between span tags. Set the background-color of that span to 'yellow'. (See the Hint for help!)

code:
h3 {
font-family: Courier;
color: red;
}
p {font-family:Courier;
font-size: 18px;
color: #4a4943

}
{
background-color:yellow;

}

error message:

Oops, try again. Make sure you set your span tags to background-color: yellow!

what is wrong?!

#2

general css syntax:

selector { property: value; }

now, your selector (span) seems to be missing all together

#3

thank you but where do I put it?

#4

Under your CSS (style.css tab)

#5

well, i showed you the general syntax:

selector { property: value; }

so i suggest before the opening curly bracket (}) which contains the background property + the right value

#6

thank you! it looks ok to me(the background is yellow) but it still says the same error code

p { background-color: yellow; }

h3 {
font-family: Courier;
color: red;
}
p {font-family:Courier;
font-size: 18px;
color: #4a4943

}
{
background-color:yellow;

}

#7

now you have it twice:

p { background-color: yellow; }
{
    background-color:yellow;

}

so, i suggest you remove one of the two, and then use the right selector (span, not p), p will target a paragraph, you want to target span

#8

Thank you sooooooooo much!!!!
