Making a Purchase

#1

i am not understand what is the mistake un my code..

Replace this line with your code.
shopping_list = ["banana", "orange", "apple"]

stock = {
    "banana": 6,
    "apple": 0,
    "orange": 32,
    "pear": 15
}

prices = {
    "banana": 4,
    "apple": 2,
    "orange": 1.5,
    "pear": 3
}

# Write your code below!
def compute_bill(food) :
    total = 0
    for item in food:
        total ==  total + prices[1]
    return total

#2

this line:

total ==  total + prices[1]

i would use a single equal sign, since you want to assign a new value (single equal sign) to total, and not compare (two equal signs). Same line, prices[1], why 1? you need the price of an item, the key you need to access the prices dictionary is stored in item
