Lost Connection to Codecademy

#1

Hi all,

When trying to use a lesson I’m keep losing connection to codecademy, it was working fine yesterday, but now it’s not even connecting. I’m running on a Windows 10 OS and use Google Chrome.

Is anyone else having this problem? Could it be a problem with codecademy? Any insight would be appricated.
Thanks

I’m having the same issues; I’m able to load the static content, but I’m getting a 500 error when connecting to the WebSockets:

WebSocket connection to 'wss://workshop.cc-propeller.com/api/v1/socket/connect/?X-Codecademy-User-Id…[redacted]…' failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 500

Hello, I am having the same problem across three different devices on two different networks. Was working great this morning.

#4

Hello World,

Same problem here. I tried on the last version of several browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox) and my firewall is deactivated. Error 500 everywhere

#5

Same problem here. “lost connection to codeacademy”:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

#6

Hi! The same, “Lost connection”…

#7

I have been using codecademy form months and today Python or any other course will not connect. The connection notification goes from grey to red (it needs to go to green). I pay for this, but can’t even find an acknowledgment from codecademy about this problem.

#8

The same problem - Can anyone from the support give us some directions or answers ?

#9

same problem here. What should we do?

#10

Tweet them. (@codecademy twitter)

#11

I logged a customer support request - hopefully someone is paying attention to the queue or the community boards…

#12

Can’t connect here in the UK as well

#13

Yes! I lost connection too today!

#14

Their twitter says they’re working on it now. But lol first day I try and use this site and it crashes. Sorry guys

#15

I’ve been using it for a while, and this is the first time I’ve run into issues. Please don’t let this isolated incident be too much of a detraction for you…

#16

Oof, I am so, so sorry @elisecoates. I can say with real confidence that this is completely abnormal. I completely understand that starting a new learning journey is tough enough as it is, and this is an unnecessary set back, so please know I am genuinely grateful for your patience with us!

#17

Hi everyone,
The team is aware of the issues and is working to resolve them as quickly as possible. We’re so sorry for the trouble. Please follow this thread for regular updates until a full resolution is reached.

#18

Same problem… :frowning:

#19

Hey guys, while you wait, you can try pinging them using CMD:

ping www.codecademy.com -n 1

And try pinging https://1.1.1.1 as well:

ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1

Even try hooking your DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 as well!
