Links and text decoration

#1

I keep having a problem with this code. It keeps saying "Oops, try again. Did you remember to set your link's color to #cc0000;?"
What is wrong with my code?

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
	<head>
	    <linktype="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/>
		<title>Result</title>
	</head>
	<body>
	    <h1 style="font-family: Verdana; color: #576d94">All About Me</h1>
	    <p style="font-family:Garamond;font-size: 18px; color: #4a4943">this is wherer i am suppose to write about myself!</p>
	    <a herf="http://bit.ly/NnVbxt">
	    </a>
	</body>
</html>

CSS STYLE SHEET

p {
    font-family: Garamond, serif;
}
h1 {
    font-family:Verdana, sans-serif;
}
img {
    height: 100px;
    width: 300px;
    border-width: 1px;
    border-style:solid;
    border-color:#4682b4;
}
a {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #cc0000;
}

26. Links and Text Decoration
#2

why do you use the style attribute? You have an external stylesheet. Of course, then it is important your <link> is correct. In you case, a space between <link and typeis missing

Then, you anchor element:

<a herf="http://bit.ly/NnVbxt"><!-- no text to click on --></a>

there is no text to click on. Also, the attribute should be href, not herf. Now your link to stylestheet is working, you can remove the style attribute of your paragraph and h1 opening tag

I fixed the issue but now it says this?

Oops, try again. Did you remember to set your link's text-decoration to none;?

#4

Can you post an updated version of your code?

You didn't include the space between <link and type

#7

I did that but it keeps saying this Did you remember to give your image a 1px solid #4682b4 border?

#8

Please paste in your code

#9

how can i overcome the message that it says Whoops! It looks like your 'a' selector doesn't have the color #cc0000?

#10

Under your CSS tab you need to use the selector a and set color: #cc0000;
