Your last piece misses the semi-colon:

a:visited{
color:#EE9A00**;**
}

I agree with somalaskay, you are missing a semi-colon. ALso, i would put a:hover after a:visisted, so that hover also work on visited links. And if you post html code, take the following the steps to ensure it is visible:

Hey thanks for your quick reply,

This is my new HTML code

    <!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
	<head>
		<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/>
		<title></title>
	</head>
	<body>
        <ul>
            <li>
			<a href="www.google.com">
			Click here for google!
			</a>
			</li>
			<li>
			<a href="www.facebook.com">
			Click here for facebook!
			</a>
			</li>
			<li>
			<a href="www.instagram.com">
			Click here for instagram!
			</a>
			</li>

	</body>
</html>

This is my new CSS code that still doesn't work
a:link:{
color:#008B45
text-decoration:none;
}
a:visited{
color:#EE9A00;
}
a:hover{
color:#00FF00;
}

two problems, and they are both in this bit of code:

a:link:{
    color:#008B45
    text-decoration:none;
}

you have a colon after link, which shouldn't be there, and after color #o008B45 you miss a semi-colon. so the final could should be:

a:link{
    color:#008B45;
    text-decoration:none;
}
