Lesson one

#1

Oops, try again. Your code looks a bit off--it threw a "invalid syntax (python, line 2)" error. Check the Hint if you need help!

it says invalid syntax. i dont understand why

Replace this line with your code.

lloyd={
        "name":Lloyd,"homework","quizzes","tests"
        }
alice={
        "name","homework","quizzes","tests"
        }
tyler={
        "name","homework","quizzes","tests"
        }

#2

because your homework, quizzes and tests keys don't have any values?

#3

it is supposed to be empty right now. so to keep it empty, should i use these brackets - { } ?

#4

no, dictionary can't have keys which don't have a value. You should give them list as values, those lists can be empty

empty list != dictionary key without value

#5

Also, btw, Lloyd will need to be in quotes or else you will get an name error name lloyd is not defined and that is so not cool to deal with :stuck_out_tongue:

#6

got it.. so it should be an empty list.
thanks!

#7

hahaha got it mate. i got that error :stuck_out_tongue:
