Lesson number one, when student becomes the teacher

#1

Hey! Can you help me find what is wrong here?

lloyd = {
"name":["Lloyd"],
"homework":[],
"quizzes":[],
"tests":[]
}

alice = {
"name":["Alice"],
"homework":[],
"quizzes":[],
"tests":[],
}

tyler = {
"name":["Tyler"],
"homework":[],
"quizzes":[],
"tests":[],
}

#2

try to put the names fo students without [] like this
' ' '
"name" : "Lloyd",
' ' '

#3

Hi, as Wizmarco said the name should be without [] characters. Then the code works:

lloyd = {
'name': 'Lloyd',
'homework':[],
'quizzes':[] ,
'tests':[],
}
alice = {
'name':'Alice',
'homework':[],
'quizzes':[],
'tests':[],
}
tyler = {
'name': 'Tyler',
'homework':[],
'quizzes':[],
'tests':[],
}

#4

Thanks a lot for your help!! :smile:

#5

ITS OK MATE, im here for you

#6

Ok...but I don't understand why... :sweat:

#7

Name is a variable not a name:value pair. Name = 'Lloyd' when you get further on you are going to add other things that are going to have more than one value.

#8

Hi you !
Maybe, name is unique , i hope i think thing exactly .
