Learning QIIME

Hi all,

One of my friends who’s currently starting off in bioinfomatics will have to learn and complete simple tasks in QIIME in the near future.

She has never coded in her life and I recommended that this site is probably a good place to start.

Is anyone familiar with QIIME and have any recommendations on what courses on this site to take to give her at least a basic understanding of a coding language that can translate easily to QIIME?

Just on first glance it looks like QIIME is Python based so that is the language she should begin to get comfortable with. I sure hope your friend is good at statistics or she is going to have a tough time in this field.
