Along with coding I’m also learning how to speak Italian, which makes me wonder…is anyone else trying to learn another language?
What platform are you using to help aid in this language learning journey? Does anyone have any experience talking with chatGPT in regard to learning proper grammar in written conversation?
I wouldn’t use CGPT for anything bc of issues with the training data.
I use Duolingo for French & Spanish and another app to learn ASL. I’ve mostly been focusing on ASL lately.

If I may ask, does ASL just interest you personally, or are you attempting to communicate with someone as an end result?
I myself have a daughter with pretty severe hearing loss that has hearing aids, and I wanted to give her the option of wearing her aids or using ASL as a means of communication. I just find the language fascinating!
I’m learning it bc I wanted to be able to communicate with people who are HoH or non-hearing. (I’m hearing). I’ve been meaning to learn for years and have found a few YouTubers that are really good teachers and a few Instagram accounts too.
One insta account that I follow (I forget her name) had gradually lost her hearing & she does have a hearing aid in one ear but she still signs. She’s an excellent teacher.

I also want to learn German as my next sem have less subjects so I will tell you my approach, I will take a German course and I will join different discord servers for German communication. I think talking to other native speakers is the best way to fix grammar and become fluent in it.

Where are you taking courses to learn German, if I may ask?
Also, great idea about joining a German discord! Do they get annoyed having to teach you German? I’d assume there’s some people that strictly only know German in a German discord and have trouble helping someone who is speaking English. Although, I’d love to hear about your experience!

Hello, I am trying to learn English, because I see that for all courses or books that can help me a lot are in English. It’s a little tedious to be with the translator every so often, even right now.

Its will be taught in my college @ThatTyGuy. Also those discord servers I’m talking about aren’t there so you can go there and expect people to teach you but they are there so you can go and talk with people in German so you can be more fluent in it. I did this same thing when I was learning English just reading and learning won’t help you a lot. You have to start talking with people and I did that on discord, there are dedicated discord servers for this I can link you some if you want. Also I will use this youtube as reference with my college course.

Read books, take a course and talk to people in English as if you don’t try to talk then it will be useless.
Wowzas, thank you for the youtube channel. I’ll have to find a similar one for Italian

As @dakshdeephere stated, the best way you can learn English is to practice it! Perhaps you can practice with us!

If anyone uses Duolingo I have a classroom set up that grants you unlimited hearts. This is a feature of the paid plan and can save you some $ a month. Just need to know what language you’re learning and I can add you to the class roster.

Try Japanese you’ll have to learn bit of Chinese and Korean both.
I tried this mobile app called Lingo Legend and it’s pretty fun. You play a game and learn a language at the same time, and Korean is a featured language. Perhaps give that a shot and let me know what you think of it.
