.jumbotron p { color: #fff;

#1

.jumbotron p {
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
}

What am I doing wrong?

#2

This seems to be okay, the problem might be before that css rule or a typo in your html code, can you share them here and tell us what is the error saying ?

#3

How does this not require the h1 (which is what the hint suggests to do)? I was putting:

.jumbotron h1 {
color

: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
}

Why didn't that work?

#4

There is two different styling exercises. Jumbotron heading and Jumbotron paragraph.

Jumbotron heading goes like this:

.jumbotron h1 {
  color: #fff;
  font-size: 48px;
  font-weight: bold;
}

and Jumbotron paragraph goes like this:

.jumbotron p {
  color: #fff;
  font-size: 20px;
}

If these do not work then it is a possiblity that:

  1. There is a mistake earlier either in html or in css
  2. You have to refresh the browser
  3. You have to reset the exercise and paste in the code again

#5

Oops, try again. Set the color of the p element inside

..
to #fff

#6

Can you post your html code here? And please remember to put your code between the backticks

```
Code
```

#7

I don't know how to show my whole code I'm new on doing this

#8
  1. Go to codecademy course
  2. Copy everything from index.html tab
  3. Paste it here
  4. Surround it with backticks
```
<!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
        <head>
```

Like this

It is good that you posted your CSS as a accident i suppose, because there are some places you have forgotten the closing brackets.

.nav a {
    color: #5a5a5a;
    font-size: llpx;
    font-weight: bold;
    padding-bottom: 14px;
    padding-left: 10px;
    padding-right: 10px;
    padding-top: 14px;
    text-transform: uppercase;
}

.jumbotron {
    background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn');
    height: 500px;
} // Closing bracket here

.jumbotron p {
    color: #fff;
    font-size: 20px;
}

.jumbotron h1 {
    color: #fff
    font-size: 48px
    font-weight:
} // Closing bracket here

.jumbotron h1 {
    color: #fff;
    font-size: 48px;
    font-weight: bold;
}

#11

.nav a {
color: #5a5a5a;
font-size: llpx;
font-weight: bold;
padding-bottom: 14px;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
padding-top: 14px;
text-transform: uppercase;
}

.jumbotron {
background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn');
height: 500px;

.jumbotron p {
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
}
.jumbotron h1 {
color: #fff
font-size: 48px
font-weight:
~~~~~~~~~~
.jumbotron p {
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
}
~~~~~~~~~~~

#12

The problem was the closing brackets
thank you for correcting my accidental post :smile:

I have another question for you. You're probably getting this better than I am.

The request is, "Make a second CSS rule that selects the h2 element inside .neighborhood-guides". This is what I have:

.neighborhood-guides h2 {
color: #393c3d
font-size: 24px
}

Codecademy is telling me it's wrong. Help please!

#14

Probably because you don't end the sentences with a semicolon :relaxed:

color: #393c3d;
font-size: 24px;
