Javascript iterators lesson 3 map

#1

Hi, I’m hoping you could help me since I’m stuck at this exersize at the final(third) instruction.

I completed the first one with this:

let secretMessage = animals.map(function(firstLetter)
                                {
  return firstLetter[0];
}
                            );

and now I have to rewrite it used the arrow function syntax, so I’ve written this:

let secretMessage = animals.map(firstLetters => return firstLetters[0]);

and it doesn’t work.

If you or anyone could help I’d really appreciate it :slight_smile:

Javascript: Iterators Lesson 3 .map()
#2

look at the example:

let numbers = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5];
let bigNumbers = numbers.map(numbers => numbers * 10);

the shorthand used here, is the same one you attempt to use, do you see a return keyword anywhere in this example?

next time, please take a minute before making a question. You didn’t include: error message and exercise url. Furthermore, you hijacked an existing topic rather then creating your own. See guidelines and quick-tips-for-writing-good-posts
