The Rubik's cube

history of the Cube

Larry Nichols

Growing up in a small town named Xenia, Ohio, Nichols
loved puzzles and toys.
One toy was the "15 puzzle", in which you had one slot and you had to get all the numbers in order.

While strolling near his college campus in 1957, he tried thinking of ways to move small puzzle
pieces without an empty spot. He finally thought that
he doesnt have to have to
have a 2-d puzzle. and started creating 2x2x2 puzzled with magnets so they would stay together.

When working for the Moleculon Research Corp in Massachusets, Nichols stopped manufacturing
the toy to inprove it. They later got a U.S patent, about 5 years before Ernő Rubik got his hungarian patent.

Nichols saw the Rubik's cube right after they shut down because of no sales in around 1975. He
then claimed that it had been braking his patent. After a long fight, The Rubik's cube won.

Ernő Rubik

Ernő Rubik was born in 1944 in Hungary. His father, named Ernő Rubik, Sr. was an aeronautical engineer who designed
light aircrafts. His father also won the Kossuth Prize
in 1963, The best prize in Hungary. Ernő studied sculpture but
was shifted to architecture.

different types of Rubik's Cubes

Their are many different types of Rubik's, most aren't even cubes! Here are a list of some with pictures(not including 2x2, 4x4, etc.)

#10

#11

are Aidan.css and whatever you called your html file in the same directory? And are you positive you stored the files as css and html files? Not accidentally as .txt files?

#12

Yes. This worked before, but one day i opened the html file to an app called "codewriter" and then it didn't work

#13

It should work, i re-created the files and everything worked, it is extremely difficult to solve such problems on a forum

#14

hmm, odd. I just created two different text documents and replaced the names and it worked..... Thanks for the help anyways.
