"It's better with a header" Stuck

#1

I have the below written, and I keep getting a message that h1 tags should be between the body tags -- but they are. Any ideas about why I can't continue? Thanks!

<!DOCTYPE>
<html>
<head>
<title>
<body><h1> Kate </h1></body>
</title>
</head>
</html>

uhm.. your head should be closed before your body, and your title should be inside your head. (head = <head></head>)

for next time, use one of the two following options to make your code/indent is visible:

select your code and press ctrl + shift + c (or cmd + shift + c if you use a mac)

if this instructions are unclear, you can also insert 3 backticks before and after your code, like so:

```
<p>visible</p>
```

the backtick is located above the tab key on your keyboard

I am having the same problem, and I've tried to do what you said, but it still won't work. It continues to tell me that h1 tags should be between the body tags. Can somebody help me? Thanks

#4

Can you post your code? It is the only way we can help you

#5

Of coures. It looks like this.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>
<body><h1> Kenedy </h1></body>
</title>
</head>
</html>

Also, could you explain it to me clearly? I am a beginner.

#6

But this is the exact same problem as cwg237? Which i explained. Okay, let's say i have a basic html document:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
</html>

In this document, i have two sections, head and body:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head></head>
<body></body>
</html>

inside the head should be the title, and inside the body your heading (h1), hope this helps.

I know it's the same problem as cwg237, and I tried to do what you explained, but I must have done something wrong. I don't know.

#8

i hit ctrl + enter by accident, i updated my answer. Please read it.

#9

Oh, haha. Thanks. I'll ask again if for some reason it doesn't work. Thanks again!

#10

Where am I going wrong?

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <html>Life is ood
        <Head> All is well
            <title strong> My page
                <body><h1> Leave it as you found it</h1></body></title></head></html>

#11

You might want to revisit a few exercises from html basics, this code is pretty messy

#12

Obviously that didn't help me.
Just what is my mistake (messy) can you be more specific?

#13

Okay, here are the specifics, first you have the html document:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
</html>

then your document gets divided in two sections, a body and a head:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head></head>
<body></body>
</html>

inside your body should be your heading (h1) and inside the head your title. And remove the strong, or use it correctly.

head: <head></head>
heading: h1 till h6

#14

Is this better?

It's a good life

for anyone who wants it

#15

Does it pass? I said you should remove strong, but keep your titlte

Please read this post about markdown so your code/indent will show.
