did you set the variable equal to ping

the_machine_goes = "ping!"
print(the_machine_goes_ping)

#2

should be Ping not ping :thumbsup:

#3

Two issues here...

  • The variable, the_machine_goes should be equal to "Ping!", not "ping!".
  • Your print statement should look like print the_machine_goes and not print(the_machine_goes_ping).

If you address these issues, your code should work just fine.

#4

actually you can add ( ) around your print and it will work fine. Now, they are obviously not necessary to the actual code so you might still want to take them out @bravefish13. Good catch @aquaphoenix17

I know, but the_machine_goes_ping is not defined. However, the_machine_goes is.
