Invalid syntax

When i am defining list name class its calling the class object rather than defining as a list

For each student item in the class list, calculate get_average(student) and then call results.append() with that result.

def get_class_average(student):
results =[]
for student in class:
result_value = get_average(student)
results.append(result_value)
return average(results)

=student= is the PARAMETER in the get_class_average() function
which will be the receiver of the list of =student='s

Maybe writing it differently

def get_class_average(students):
    results =[]
    for a_student in students:
        result_value = get_average(a_student)
        results.append(result_value)
    return average(results)

like

If you want to call/execute this myFunction function
and this myFunction function was defined
as having 1 parameter param1
you will have to provide 1 argument
in our case a "number VALUE" 4
myFunction( 4 )

As you are using the return-statement in your myFunction function
you will only get a return-value no-display.
You can however capture this return-value in a variable
and then use the print-method to do a display.

print theResult

OR directly

print myFunction( 4 )
