G’day all!

I’m Chris, an Aussie living in and learning from Ibiza! I am learning Web Dev on Code Academy alongside courses I started on another platform, to really drive home the knowledge and push forward.

People say I’m too analytical, a bit of a perfectionist, and bad at prioritisation. Seems to me these are perfect attributes to compliment a new career in code!

What gets me excited about coding? The process of visualising something and making it appear from the ground up. For me, it the very same feeling I get from woodworking or whipping up a feast for dinner guests (not much of those these days!).

Projects I’ve completed include some landing pages, a BBC News clone, a JS Reaction Tester game, a few Daily UI challenges, and a Code Player I call “CodeCreep” (think JSBin), although I don’t know if I feel quite confident enough to share just yet.

I look forward to coding with you across borders someday. :v:

My name is Monk and I’m somewhere in California. I happened upon Codecademy while looking for a course on coding and programming. This quarantine has forced me out of work and, as the virus is projected to linger for some time, has made me think about work or a career that would allow me to work from home. Now seems like the perfect moment to learn some new skills. I’m on the Computer Science path in Codecademy and currently learning Python. I’m having a blast!

Hello! I am Dmitry from Moscow, Russia. I’ve been coding for a few years now. Unfortunately, my Bachelors degree was Management/Marketing and after a few years of doing it, I tried writing code myself and fell in love with it. I’ve been learning Python mostly and a few weeks ago started learning Swift hoping to develop an app. I don’t really care what carrier path to choose for I just really like coding and working with algorithms. The main problem I constantly face is a lack of deep math knowledge which is required for profound ML and DS. Hope one day I will surmount the obstacle and be able to understand math as easy as I understand lines of code, syntaxes etc…
Peace!

Hi!
I am Jihed, post-doc in Biology. I am here to strengthen my knowledge of python. I have been using it with Snakemake without really knowing the basics. I also would like to get better at statistics.
I followed the course for python for a week now and I find it very good. I like it a lot !

Hello! I’m Ydrian from the US. I learnt most of my coding knowledge from Khan Academy. I am a student. I’d love to learn to Codecademy, but unfortunately, I am too young to pay for the program and I don’t believe I can convince my parents to pay for the program during these worrying times. I wanted to learn to code because I like trying new things with technology.

Hi, I’m Rick from Manchester, UK. I’m a computer engineer that is currently on furlough and have started on the Learn C# course (currently on 15%). I have some C++ knowledge from back in Uni but couldn’t really get my head round it back then, but have found learning on Codeacademy a lot easier and seem to be picking C# up a lot quicker.

I’m mainly learning C# as I have a deep interest in game development and feel that learning this language will help me to understand coding in the Unity game engine.
