I'm stuck on lesson 6, jumbotron fonts

#1

.nav a {
color: #5a5a5a;
font-size: 11px;
font-weight: bold;
padding-top: 14px;
padding-bottom: 14px;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
text-transform: uppercase;
}
.jumbotron {
background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn');
height: 500px;
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
font-weight: bold;
font-family: 'Shift', sans-serif;
}

It is telling me that I need to do this next: In main.css, inside the .jumbotron h1 selector, set font-family to 'Shift', sans-serif.

I can't figure out WHERE to put it though. LOL. Help a girl out please.

#2

The font size should be 48px

#3

I don't see your .jumbotron h1 selector. That is a problem :smile:

#4

Thanks. I'm confused, where do I put the h1?

#5

You make a new selector like this:

.jumbotron h1 {

    put the properties for the CSS styles in here

}

You can place that anywhere in your main.css file -- almost, don't put it inside of another CSS rule.

#6

I'm stuck on this too. I have the .jumbrotron h1 selector but I still don't know where to put font-family.

.nav a {
color: #5a5a5a;
font-size: 11px;
font-weight: bold;
padding-top: 14px;
padding-bottom: 14px;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
text-transform: uppercase;
}
.jumbotron {
height: 500px;
background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn');
}
.jumbotron h1 {
color: #fff;
font-size: 48px;
font-weight: bold;
font-family: 'Shift', sans-serif;
}
.jumbotron p {
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
}

I put it where I bolded in the .jumbotron h1 selector, but it gives me this error: "Oops, try again. Set the font-family of the h1 element inside < div class="jumbotron">.. to 'Shift', sans-serif"

#7

That looks perfect.

Do you still have your link to shift.css in your index.html file?
Do you still have your link to main.css in your index.html file?

#8

LOL! I forgot to add the main.css link in my index.html file. I only had the shift.css one. Thank you for that :smile:

#9

Ok, so this is what I thought would work, but it didn't. It tells me that "Inside the head element add the link element for the custom font." Um..I'm confused. Maybe I need to go to bed and try again in the morning. LOL

.nav a {
color: #5a5a5a;
font-size: 20px;
font-weight: bold;
padding-top: 14px;
padding-bottom: 14px;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
text-transform: uppercase;
font-family: 'Shift", sans-serif;
}
.jumbotron {
background-image: url('https://goo.gl/04j7Nn');
height: 500px;
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
font-weight: bold;
}
.jumbotron h1 {
}

First thing for you to look into, why have you left that CSS rule empty? What are the property/values that you want to apply to your h1 elements?
