I'm looking to start a new programming language

I have been doing Lua for about 3 years and I decided that I want to start creating proper applications (and maybe games too), I heard C++ is a good all rounder for making solid software, can anyone put me on the right path of what programming language I should learn? I’m not looking for an easy language, I’m looking for something that will get me far in terms of software development.

Any help appreciated!

You have a few options here, we got C++, C#, JavaScript, Java, Lua and Python looking at a blog I found. However, I feel like the first 3 I mentioned are the ones you may be more interested in. You can have a little read here yourself on one of the Orient Software blogs. It sort of goes over each language, how easy it is and their game engine support.
