I'm a bit confused

#1

When I did my css lessons I identified the id with the # symbol and then proceeded with what it is I wanted it to do but on this lesson I'm not sure how I'm supposed to identify it within the javascript.

 // Write your jQuery code on line 3!
$(document).ready(function() {
    var $target = '1';
    $target.fadeOut('fast');
});

  • jQuery is for chumps!

  • #4

    You would do this:

    $(#id)

    Thanks I think I tried it without the parenthesis and it didn't work so I gave up on it at first

    Shouldn't give up, keep trying.
