If original<0

why is this not working? It works if i get rid of <0 but i need that to determine whether any writing is there
print 'Welcome to the Pig Latin Translator!'

Start coding here!

original = raw_input("Enter a word")
if original < 0 and original.isalpha() :
print original
print "empty"

i tried changing line 4 to this but that didn't work
if len(original) < 0 and original.isalpha() :

Does that make any sense in your opinion? If the word is not longer than 0 letters.

Type if original > 0 , so you actually check if the user type anything. Then it should work fine :grin:

of course it would be such a stupid mistake thank you so much that worked perfectly
