I tried to generalize the one rule, but it's not working

For Newsroom there are a lot of <p class="date"> elements in the page so to make things more uniform, I made this general css rule:
p.date { font-size: 16px;

But this won't apply to any

in the webpage. I thought this rule would apply to all p elements with the class="date"...

I'm confused.

Hi Carlden,

I don't see anything wrong with that code. Since 16px is the default font size for most browsers though, it may just be that there's no way to notice the change, even though the CSS is getting applied. Do you notice a difference if you use this instead?

.date {
  color: red;
  font-size: 50px;
