Hello, I'm André.
Oh, in the question you put a space between the dot and the nav, have you put this space in the code too? If yes try to remove it.
That is my code:

.nav a{
    color: #5a5a5a;
    font-size: 11px;
    font-weight: bold;
    padding-top: 14px;
    padding-bottom: 14px;
    padding-left: 10px;
    padding-right: 10px;
    text-transform: uppercase;
}

you don't need to write two selectors.

    padding-bottom: 14px;
    padding-left: 10px;
    padding-right: 10px;
    text-transform: uppercase;

Sorry for the late,
I used a div with the class nav
<div class="nav">
<div class="container">
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Airbnb logo</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Browse</a></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Sign Up</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Log In</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Help</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
