I am not sure what I am doing wrong

#1

In the #5 "link it up" section of CSS: An overview, I am supposed to link my index.html to my stylesheet.css and make the font size 44px. Here is my html, followed by my css:

link type="text/css rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/ I have <> around this.

My CSS is:
p {
font-size: 44px;
}

But I get an error that says, "Oops, try again. Did you remember to link your stylesheet with your HTML file? It looks like your paragraph's font-size is 16px instead of 44px." What am I missing?

#2

Hey @vercinterix,

You missed a quotation mark there. :wink:

#3

After "text.css"? The punctuation is actually there in my HTML exercise, I missed putting it in here. Besides that, what else?

#4

Here is the copy and paste:

link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stlyesheet.css"/

Again, I have <> around this

#5

Show me your full code, but use 3 backticks, right on top of the tab key

```
dfsfa
```

#6

Excuse my ignorance, but where do you put the three backticks?

#7

Right how I showed it to you.

3 backticks here
word
3 backticks

#8

Thank you.
`
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stlyesheet.css"/>
<title>Result</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>I want to be SIZE 44 font!</p>
</body>
</html>

#9

Seriously? I just noticed I misspelled stylesheet in "stylesheet.css

Thanks for the input

#10

Haha no problem. :smiley:

Though I actually didn't really do anything....

I am having this same problem mentioned above, same error message. I cannot move forward. This is what I have on my index.html file:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
      <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css"/>
      <title>Result</title>
    </head>
    <body>
        <p>I want to be SIZE 44 font!</p>
    </body>
</html>

This is the stylesheet.css file, which I have changed nothing on:

p {
font-size: 44px;
}

#12

Actually, I should note that the only difference in the error is that the font size is "undefined" instead of 44px. I have no idea if that is useful information or not.

#13

I installed Chrome and tried it there, and it worked. Not sure if that is because I need to clear cookies in Firefox, or if that's anything that gets address by people on your end. Just wanted to post that in case it was helpful to anyone.

#14

but i'm actually on Google Chrome

this is my code html:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
	<head>
	<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet" />
		<title>Result</title>
	</head>
	<body>
		<p>I want to be SIZE 44 font!</p>
	</body>
</html>

and CSS:

p{
    font-size: 44px
}https://www.codecademy.com/courses/web-beginner-en-TlhFi/0/5?curriculum_id=50579fb998b470000202dc8b#

Pay attention that the "href" attribute is not right.
is should look like:

href="stylesheet.css"
