Hi, I’m on step 13 of this project where you test the error response in the console. In my console I’m getting a fatal 403 error with a link to this:

403 ERROR

The request could not be satisfied.

The Amazon CloudFront distribution is configured to block access from your country. We can’t connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner.
If you provide content to customers through CloudFront, you can find steps to troubleshoot and help prevent this error by reviewing the CloudFront documentation.

I’m in the United Kingdom. I can’t find anything that says I can’t use the Foursquare API here or that it is delivered by CloudFront. Anyone any ideas what’s going on? Thank you!

Are you behind a VPN?

No I’m not, but thanks for the suggestion!

Do you have access to one that you can try with?

Ideally you should try with a VPN using a node from Uk and one from another Country. In this way you can pinpoint if the problem is your ip address specifically or your location.

Thank you - I did try that but it seems to be working with the VPN turned off too. I think I missed a step and maybe that triggered the 403 error.

You’re welcome. Hopefully you’ll be able to complete the project, have a good day!

Just for the record, when I came back to the project today with the VPM off, I got the 403 error again. Maybe I didn’t clear my cache when I turned it off yesterday, or the permissions stay in place for a session, or something.

So Codecademy, you may need to look into whether learners in different parts of the world can access the APIs in the project.
