How to structure my code correctly? Help

#1

I'm new to Codecademy. I was on 'HTML basic II' and no matter how I structured my code it wouldn't take it. Well I found a solution to this on one of the forums or whatever. I copied and pasted and it worked. I want to know what exactly I did wrong/was the problem:

The code I try to use:

some random thoughts

sksksksksk

  • this1

  • this2

  • this3

  • this4

  • </body>

    The copied and pasted code that works:

    Some random thoughts

    The paragraph

    • thought1

    • thought2

    • thought3

    • thought4

    My question is the way its structured is all nice and neat and is just aligned well. How do I do this? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Imherenow,

    Your code isn't currently visible. Please edit your post to format it, then comment back so we'll know you've updated the code. You can format code by selecting it all while in the post editor, and pressing Ctrl/Cmd + K, or by adding a new line and three backticks (`) before and after your code, like this:

    ```
    <code> will show up properly here
    ```

    Thanks!

    posting the code would be helpful.
    what you posted as written gives me the impression that you typed in "some random thoughts" sksksksksk
    and this1, this2, etc. inisde the head.
