I was asked by someone in real life if I code as much as other coders do. While I don’t think all coders code the same amount of time, I am curious as to how much time some coders put in, and how much they would like to put in.
How much time would you like to code in a week?
- Less than 1 hour a week
- 1 to 4 hours a week
- 4 to 8 hours a week
- 8 to 12 hours a week
- 12 to 20 hours a week
- 20 to 40 hours a week
- 40+ hours a week
How much time do you actually code in a week?
- Less than 1 hour a week
- 1 to 4 hours a week
- 4 to 8 hours a week
- 8 to 12 hours a week
- 12 to 20 hours a week
- 20 to 40 hours a week
- 40+ hours a week

I truly do coding for 40 hours a week, sometimes I go over that, but not often, I do it 7 days a week so it isn’t as time consuming as it would be if I did it only on weekdays.
I like coding though, so I like how much time I spend doing it.

40+ hours a week!
I don’t plan in advance how much time to code during any given week, but by the time the week has ended, it nearly always totals 40+ hours.
Who knows where the time goes?

Every week is different for me, or should I rather say every day!
It depends on what I’m working on yeah,
so I clicked the 20 - 40 hours probably my average, but when I’m working on a project then its 40+
last week I probably put in about 60+ hours yeah,
Hard to judge as I don’t time myself, I won’t be surprised if its more!
@iknights I took out a similar poll months back

I first got into coding with watching a youtube Minecraft mod showcase, but then I didn’t know what coding was until October/November 2016 area, and I found Codecademy and I was hooked. I code about 2/3 hours a day all except Saturday and Sunday.
I code everyday here between 11 am and noon
I only probly do like 2 hours
