# How is everyone doing error?

Its just saying Oops, try again.
Did you remember to print the letter grade for the class's average?

``````lloyd = {
"name": "Lloyd",
"homework": [90.0, 97.0, 75.0, 92.0],
"quizzes": [88.0, 40.0, 94.0],
"tests": [75.0, 90.0]
}
alice = {
"name": "Alice",
"homework": [100.0, 92.0, 98.0, 100.0],
"quizzes": [82.0, 83.0, 91.0],
"tests": [89.0, 97.0]
}
tyler = {
"name": "Tyler",
"homework": [0.0, 87.0, 75.0, 22.0],
"quizzes": [0.0, 75.0, 78.0],
"tests": [100.0, 100.0]
}
students = [lloyd, alice, tyler]
for student in students:
print student['name']
print student['homework']
print student['quizzes']
print student['tests']
def average(numbers):
total = sum(numbers)
total = float(total) / len(numbers)
def get_average(student):
homework = average(student['homework']) * .10
quizzes = average(student['quizzes']) * .30
tests = average(student['tests']) * .60
return homework + quizzes + tests
if score >= 90:
print 'A'
elif score >= 80:
print 'B'
elif score >= 70:
print 'C'
elif score >= 60:
print 'D'
else:
print 'F'
def get_class_average(students):
results = []
for student in students:
results.append(get_average(student))
return average(results)
print get_class_average(students)
In ur get_letter_grade function, you printed the letter grades, but you are supposed to return them. For example, you wrote:
``````def get_letter_grade(score):
if score >= 90:
print 'A'
elif score >= 80:
print 'B'
elif score >= 70:
print 'C'
elif score >= 60:
print 'D'
else:
print 'F'``````

when your supposed to return each of the letters:

``````def get_letter_grade(score):
if score >= 90:
return 'A'
elif score >= 80:
return 'B'
elif score >= 70:
return 'C'
elif score >= 60:
return 'D'
else:
return 'F'``````
I hope this resolves your question
Thank you so much! It worked, completely over looked that part. =)
#4
no problem, avoid printing inside functions unless the function is explicitly made to print stuff
#5
Thanks for the tip! Makes sense now that I think about it lol.
