How do I use the order of operations of the conjuction operators (true, or, etc) when a parentheses is included?

#1

exercise

False or not (True and True)

Do I read this in the following way:

1.not True
2.then the and condition
3.then the false or whatever the other outcome is condition

#2

Hi @jacquesk,

See the reference Operator precedence.

Operations in that table are performed in order from the bottom of the table to the top.

Parentheses are listed on the bottom line, meaning they have very high precedence.

To evaluate the expression that you posted …

False or not (True and True) # resolve what is inside the parentheses first
False or not (True)
False or False
False

#3

Am I correct in the assumption that you are reading the things in the parentheses first?

#4

Yes, that is correct.
