How do I stop my code from automatically compiling?

This is beyond frustrating.

The PHP code automatically compiles as you type it in index.php. Because of this, while I am writing a loop, the program will sometimes crash or when I am writing code in general, I keep getting error messages until I refresh the page and comment all my code as I write it.

I’d be much more comfortable coding if it would just compile only when I hit “save and submit”. Is there a way I can do this?

Add the following deliberate error to the top of your code…

<?php else ?>

Remove it when ready to run your code.

Thank you.

It’s not perfect, but it will at least save me a ton of frustration
