How do I get my ul to be bulleted?

#1

I thought list items in ul's default to bulleted? Tried a few things but not sure why I can't get bullets to show up for my list. Please help! Thanks!
Here's my html:

	<div class="right">
	 <h4>SKILLS</h4>
	    <ul>
	        <list>HTML</list>
	        <list>CSS</list>
	        <list>Java</list>
	        <list>Sleeping</list>
	    </ul>
	 <h4>EDUCATION</h4>
	    <ul ID="education">
	    <list>Codecademy</list>
	    <list>Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry</list>
	    <list>Harvard</list>
	    </ul>
	</div>

And here's the CSS:

*{
font-family: Verdana;
}
div{
    border-radius: 5px;
    border: 2px solid #34495E;
}
h1{
    font-family: Verdana;
    font-weight: bold;
    text-align: center;
    color: white;
}
.contact{
    color: white;
    text-align: center;
    margin-top: -10px
}
#header{
    position: fixed block;
    z-index: 1;
    background-color: #148f77;
}
.left{
    float: left;
    width: 10%;
    height: 400px;
    background-color: #FCF3CF;
    padding-left: 10px;
    padding-right: 10px;
}
.right{
    float: right;
    width: 85%;
    height: 400px;
    background-color: #D5DBDB;
}
#footer{
    clear: both;
    height: 80px;
    width: 100%;
    background-color: #148f77;
    padding-top: 10px;
}

 list{
    display: block;
}

list tags are:

<li></li>

if you list tags, it should show up with a bullet by default, you can also manipulate it with css list-style-type property

Got it! The <li></li> tags worked. Didn't even realize I was using the wrong tags. Thanks!

You can also add this to your css:

li {
  list-style-type: square;
}

this will give you squares. A full list + more explanation can be found here, good to hear your issue has been resolved.
