Help with thread shed exercise

hi,
I am working on the thread shed exercise and would really like some help / signposting in the right direction.
I have been trying to do the exercise and following the video when I get stuck. I’ve got to the point of calculating total sales. my total is 5994.9599999999955, however the exercise video solution gives a total of 1498.74…
I have looked again at my code but I’m stumped where I’m going wrong. would really appreciate a steer on this if anyone can help. thanks.

my Code so far:

daily_sales_replaced = daily_sales.replace(";,;","+")
daily_transactions = daily_sales_replaced.split(",")

daily_transactions_split =
for each_transaction in daily_transactions:
daily_transactions_split.append(each_transaction.split("+"))

#print(daily_transactions_split)

transactions_cleaned =
for transaction in daily_transactions_split:
transaction_cleaned =
for data_point in transaction:
transaction_cleaned.append(data_point.replace("\n", “”).strip(" "))
transactions_cleaned.append(transaction_cleaned)

#print(transactions_cleaned)

customers =
sales =
thread_sold =

for transaction in transactions_cleaned:
customers.append(transaction[0])
sales.append(transaction[1])
thread_sold.append(transaction[2])

#print(thread_sold)

total_sales = 0
for sale in sales:
total_sales += float(sale.strip("$"))

print(total_sales)
