Help With Lowercasing|

#1

Python | PygLatin | 11. Testing, Testing, is This Thing On?

There are not any current error messages, but when I input POTATO it returns OTATOPay.
I also had to add + 'y' to the end of the print line.

I expected the print to output otatopay in lowercases without needing to add + 'y'.

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')

if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
    word = original
    first = word[0]
    new_word = word + first + pyg
    s = new_word
    new_word = s[1:len(new_word)]
#'y' is needed to add a y to the end of the output
    print s[1:len(new_word)] + 'y'
if not original.isalpha():
    print 'Oops, try again!'
if len(original) <= 0 and not original.isalpha():
    print 'That\'s Empty!'

Please help!!
