Help with lesson 10/14

Hi All,

I keep getting the response " Did you open the <a> tag before Introduction and close it after Introduction?" I have included the code below. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

[codebyte]

<body>
  <a href="./index.html">Brown Bear</a>
  <a href="./aboutme.html">About Me</a>
  <h1>The Brown Bear</h1>
  <ul>
    <li><a href="#introduction">introdution</a></li>
    <li><a href="#habitat">habitat</a></li>
    <li><a href="#media">media</a></li>

  <div id="introduction">

Hi @script1875329746
welcome to the forum!
Could you post a link to the lesson, please?

Hi There,

I don’t know how this works but the link is below

https://www.codecademy.com/courses/learn-html/lessons/html-document-standards/exercises/linking-same-page-html?skipOnboarding=true

Thank you!

I don’t see an obvious mistake related to the error you get. The validation is very strict though and also cares about minor things. Step 1 says:

Under the <h1> element that says The Brown Bear , create an unordered list with the following three list items:

  • Introduction
  • Habitat
  • Media

Maybe it is about the Capital letters of the link text…

Ive changed the letters to capitals to see if that works but some weird reason I still keep getting “Did you open the <a> tag before Introduction and close it after Introduction?”

I don’t know what to do.

<html>

<head>
  <title>Brown Bears</title>
</head>

<body>
  <a href="./index.html">Brown Bear</a>
  <a href="./aboutme.html">About Me</a>
  <h1>The Brown Bear</h1>
  <ul>
    <li><a href="#introduction">Introdution</a></li>
    <li><a href="habitat">Habitat</a></li>
    <li><a href="#media">Media</a></li>
  </ul>

  <div id="introduction">
    <h2>About Brown Bears</h2>
    <p>The brown bear (<em>Ursus arctos</em>) is native to parts of northern Eurasia and North America. Its conservation status is currently <strong>Least Concern</strong>.<br /><br /> There are many subspecies within the brown bear species, including the
      Atlas bear and the Himalayan brown bear.</p>

This time you seem to have forgotten the hashtag before the „habitat“.

I’ve added the hashtag but it seems to not make a difference

<body>
  <a href="./index.html">Brown Bear</a>
  <a href="./aboutme.html">About Me</a>
  <h1>The Brown Bear</h1>
  <ul>
    <li><a href="#introduction">Introdution</a></li>

    <li><a href="#media">Media</a></li>
  </ul>

  <div id="introduction">

Then I don‘t know what‘s wrong. Maybe you discovered a bug.

Do you know how I can report a bug? Thank you for your help!

There’s a category for bug reports: https://discuss.codecademy.com/c/community/codecademy-bug-reporting/1416
