Help with Excel interactive exercise spreadsheets

The Learn Microsoft Excel for Data Analysis course has interactive exercise spreadsheets!

There are a couple common issues working with these:

When I open the file I’m told it is read-only!
This is likely due to your own Excel settings or anti-virus software settings. Check out Microsoft’s help page for a couple potential fixes or get in touch with your IT department!

The hints and solutions don’t update when I change my answer!
You probably have Excel set to manual calculations. There are a couple ways to handle this:

  1. You can manually tell Excel to recalculate by pressing the F9 key or by selecting the Calculate Now button on the Formulas tab (see screenshot below.)
  2. You can switch Excel to automatic calculations by using the Calculation Options button on the Formulas tab
