Help with doing math on the coding and under standing else and if?

#1

("Jon".length * 2 / (2+1) === )
{
console.log("The answer makes sense!");
}
else

it is telling me to do this but i just dont know what to do and the hint doesnt really help: There is a lot of left out syntax. The if keyword and the { } after the else keyword are all left out.

Make sure not to delete any of the provided code. It could cause your code to fail!

#2

You can start by adding those two things to the provided code.

In case you have forgotten what a basic if statement looks like:

    if (this is true) {
        do this thing;
    } else {
        do this other thing;
    }

Hello albionsrefuge,

I get the following error message:

SyntaxError: missing ) after argument list

This is my code:

if ("Jon".length * 2 / (2+1) === 2) {
console.log("The answer makes sense!");
} else {
console.log(Error Error Error);
};

Please could you shed some light as to where the missing parenthesis needs to go?

Try putting the missing " " around that string and see if that makes it feel better.

D'oh!... thanks albionsrefuge :smile:
