i dont uderstand why it dosent work

Oops, try again. Your code looks a bit off. Check the Hint if you need help!

def hotel_cost(nights):
    return 140 * nights
def plane_ride_cost(city):
    if city == "Charlotte":
        return 183
    elif city == "Tampa":
        return 220
    elif city == "Pittsburgh":
        return 222
    elif city == "Los Angeles":
        return 475
city == "Los Angeles":
def rental_car_cost(days):
    total = (days * 40)
    if days >= 7:
        total = total-50
    elif days >= 3:
        total = total-20
    return total
    spending_money = 600
def trip_cost(city,days,spending_money):
    return rental_car_cost(days) + hotel_cost(days) +plane_ride_cost(city)+spending_money

#2

Why do you have a colon after assigning city?

#3

remove the spending_money = 600 . add on the bottom a print method:

print trip_cost("Los Angeles", 7, 600)

You're missing the print message at the bottom. read the task clearly :wink:

#4

please remove this line its not needed

#5

It still dosent work

#6

also, I've tried it again with

print trip_cost("Los Angeles", 7, 600)

and right now my code is:

def hotel_cost(nights):
return 140 * nights
def plane_ride_cost(city):
if city == "Charlotte":
return 183
elif city == "Tampa":
return 220
elif city == "Pittsburgh":
return 222
elif city == "Los Angeles":
return 475
def rental_car_cost(days):
total = (days * 40)
if days >= 7:
total = total-50
elif days >= 3:
total = total-20
return total
def trip_cost(city,days,spending_money):
return rental_car_cost(days) + hotel_cost(days) +plane_ride_cost(city)+spending_money
print trip_cost("Los_Angeles",7,600)

#7

you mean print trip_cost("Los_Angeles",5,600)?
because its only staying there for 5 days

#8

oops..
i made a mistake typing Los Angeles Los_Angeles instead of Los_Angeles
thanks for the help everyone its correct no thanks! :grinning: :smile: :slight_smile:

#9
