Ending up

pyg = 'ay'

original = raw_input('Enter a word:')

if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
print original
word=original.lower()
first=word[0]
second=word[1]
third=word[2]
new_word= [1:len(new_word)]
else:
print 'empty'

the bold line returns syntext error , and i don't know why!!!

Replace this line with your code.

You dont need these...

second=word[1]
third=word[2]

hint**
@coderunner79142
read instruction..
You have to create a variable new_word and have to assign it concatenated value of word , pyg and first.

After that you have to slice new_word and re-assign to itself(That you already did)
Also after you do these two steps don't forget to print new_word!

#3

you mean word+first+pyg

#4

Yep and assign it to new_word ,as it mentioned in instruction ?
