Hi there, hope everyone is well and in the best of health, I am new to the world of coding / programming and need some assistance if possible.
Truth is I don’t even know where to start or what to do with code.
I would like to build a career in coding and have no prior expeirence, nor any CS degree.
I hear all this full stacked, back end, front end but I really don’t know what they are or what they do.
One that does appeal to me is software application development, but I don’t know where to start, what coding languages should I learn for that?
It is a tough question to answer for a lot of reasons. Most may tell you to learn either Javascript or Python to start. I think those are great options. Both have robust communities and lots of job opportunities.
Back End - Building the infrastructure to deliver content via the web. Can be many different languages, but Javascript is a popular choice.
Front End - Building the user interface. Combination of HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Full Stack - Doing both front and back end development. This is partly why Javascript is so popular, you can do both.
Maybe take one of the intro classes to python and js and see which one you like best.
If you peruse the Community category here, you’ll find other people asking a similar question and a lot of useful info from other learners on where to start.
ask yourself what interests you in technology
what do you want to build/create/do?
research those things and then find a course and dive in
