I’m trying to follow the directions in the video of this link:

As soon as I try to enter a branch name like the video shows @ 0:50, I get the following error message:
GIT: fatal: ‘HEAD’ is not a commit and a branch branch name cannot be created from it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

A bit of a loose guess but is it possible the current repo (bearing in mind that won’t necessarily relate to your open files) has no commits or something along those lines? Does git log show HEAD pointing to a specific commit?
