Form-A-Story HTML Course

Hello everyone. I have a quick question that I couldn’t solve by searching Google. In HTML, is the implied? For example, in the HTML exercise Form-A-Story I left out type=“text” just to see what would happen, but oddly the box for text showed up on the page anyway. I guess I wanted to know if HTML just assumes type=“text” if the type is left out?

Thank you,
wingtree

I’m assuming you mean “is the type implied”? According to the MDN Documentation for input, “if [the type] attribute is not specified, the default type adopted is ‘text’ .”

Hope that answers your question!
