Final Front End Open Ended Portfolio Project - Hall Of Game

Hey guys,

I just wanted to share my final portfolio project on the front end path. I have built an IGDB client called Hall of Game, a web app where users can immediately view a list of top rated games & can filter by things like genre, platform & release year & the list would dynamically change depending on which of these the user clicks. For the design I wanted to make it look like a Super Nintendo console so that informed my colour, font and design choices. I even made a reset button that looks like the one on the console using CSS.

But just to be clear, this is still a work in progress. I just wanted to share before my paid year of codecademy was up & I could still access the site. I am currently struggling to implement the IGDB API sue to CORS & proxy issues. Not through lack of trying. I have spent weeks troubleshooting this & it seems that I am not the only one. Others on the IGDB discord are having the same issue. But I will continue trying to make it work one way or another. I am even exploring other APIs like the GameSpot API.

Please let me know what you think of my app as it is using fake local data. & if you think you can help with CORS & proxies please feel free to get in touch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The “Hall of Game” project showcases a dynamic front-end portfolio, featuring interactive elements, responsive design, and a visually engaging layout. It highlights skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and UI/UX principles.
