I don’t know a whole lot about Python, but I know that in this example, lines 3, 6, and 9 contain “comments” which in Python are started with a # sign, followed by the comment. Comments are used mainly for explaining the code immediately following, what it does, or it might contain the instruction. It is used to quickly identify the components of code for easy reference, and for other coders who will be working with the code in the future.

So we paste the code in line 1 and the rest of the code moves down a line?

This is one possibility. It is also possible to paste the code in line 4, after the comment.
