The given exercise asks " How could the Blocked state be further broken down to be more descriptive?". I could not find anything related on the web or in my textbook. Any help is appreciated.

Hi @py6682100223,

I had exactly the same question. I think I can go one step further.
Actually within that lesson there is one category into which you can break down the blocked state:

  • “waiting for contested ressources”

But having only one category for blocked state doesn’t seem fit for me, to use the expression of “breaking down”. After further reading on the following exercises another option might be:

  • “parent process waiting for child process to finish”

Please mind this second option is just a suggestion from my humble understanding as a learner of the topic.
If anyone with expertise in the subject matter could confirm, deny or expand here, I’d really appreciate it.

With kind regards
Nouma
