Does anybody know the use of the ! in front of the while (!condition)? why is there? what does it do? when i ran the loop without it it broke everything

The “!” operator just means the opposite. For example, if we have a program like that

// this is assign to true
bool buttonClick = true;

  do {

     Console.WriteLine("BLARRRRRRRRR");

  }
  // this condition is false because the opposite of true is false which means our condition is met and the program will stop and print BLARRRRRRRRR to console
  while(!buttonClick);

this while(!buttonClick); means when the condition becomes false it will print BLARRRRRRRRR to console. And if not it will continue running until this condition met false.

The language in the exercises instruction is not as clear as it can be:

“If you don’t click the button to turn it off, the alarm will repeat until it is turned off.” Is a difficult sentence to wrap my head around even as a native english speaker.

Some alternatives:

The alarm will repeat until the button is turned off.
The alarm will repeat until the buttonClick is set to false.
While the button is clicked, the alarm will repeat.
