FAQ: Learn HTML – Intro to HTML – Review

What counts as a child for nesting elements? Example:

 <div id="habitat">
    <h2>Habitat</h2>
    <h3>Countries with Large Brown Bear Populations</h3>
      <ol>
        <li>Russia</li>
        <li>United States</li>
        <li>Canada</li>
      </ol>

Is the ordered list indeed a child of h3, or is it actually just in line with h3?

Or say a p is under a h1, would that p be considered a nested child and should it be indented?

Thanks <3

No, it is a sibling element of the H3.

The H2, H3, and OL are child elements of DIV, and the LI are child elements of the OL.

Child elements are nested in their parent container.

This is my first time trying htm, and i was really proud of my brown bear website once i was finished with the lesson, is there any way i can save it?

It is saved in your profile. To save it on your own machine, create a folder in your User account and give it a name like ‘codecademy’, or something generic, then create a folder in there, ‘html’, and in there a folder of project.

user/cc/html/brownbear/index.html

The file name will be index.html. Clicking on the file will open it in your browser. For the time being, leave the CDN urls as they are so you can still access the images without having to save them.

ok thank you for the guidance!
