I don’t understand this part of the lesson:

“While there is no set standard for a gutter width, it’s best practice to select a size that visually separates horizontal columns but is significantly thinner than the width of a column.”

What is a “horizontal column”? Aren’t columns vertical and rows horizontal?

In short, here, horizontal column refers to X-axis for columns. The above paragraph states that gutters should be visually smaller than columns width itself. For example, lets assume our Grid layout for 6 columns is as ‘------’ where dashes ‘-’ represents columns and gap between two columns(gutter) is represented by the space ’ ’ between dashes. Horizontal column refers to left to right (or right to left) view for these columns.

can you modify the size of a single gutter? or the size for the gutter will be the same for all of them?

And I don’t understand the part that follows right after that, which says: “The same can be said for vertical gutters.” Are there horizontal gutters as well?
