Why it isn’t SELECT SUM(‘downloads’) with the ’ ’ in this case?

In this exercise, downloads is a column name. Column names are like variables in JavaScript. We do not need to enclose them with quotation marks (i.e. ' ').

We use quotation marks for string values as data entries or for renaming columns and tables with AS (see this lesson).
